Pass on GoSoftwareBuyThere's an old saying that refers to buying a horse that goes "One white foot, buy him; Two white feet, try him; Three white feet, be on the sly; Four white feet, pass him by." This is a superstition, but it applies here. GoSoftwarebuy has four white feet. Give them a miss. At best, they are inept. I suspect that many of their five-star reviews are bots because so many of their negative reviews tell the same story: bought the software, couldn't get it to work, and couldn't get a refund. In my case, I did finally get a refund late that night, but it wasn't until after I threatened to a) report them to Microsoft and b) report them to my bank and get the refund anyway (not a novice). I purchased Office 2024 software from GoSoftwareBuy and attempted to install it after removing all artifacts of the previous version of Office, including running the command prompt (like I said, not a novice). The download they provided installed, but it treated it as Office 2021, and the 2024 license wouldn't work. I reached out for help. A few minutes later, my phone rang, and the caller ID showed EHB Financial. I ignored it. I then received an email telling me they'd called. I called them back and spoke briefly with a young man with a heavy accent. It is not his fault I have trouble hearing, and I struggled to understand him. He was overruled by another CSA, who told him he'd call me back. He said he wanted remote access to my computer and sent me a link. Now put yourself in my shoes — a man with a heavy accent from a company that doesn't show up on my caller ID as a match wanted access to my computer? How foolish would I have to be to allow this? I sent them an email requesting a refund. They replied that they couldn't provide me with one, but could offer 50%. If they can provide 50% back for inoperable software, they can provide a full refund, I said. They did not reply. I purchased and installed Office from Microsoft & installed it. No drama.
